I believe that one of the most important components of therapy lies in the relationship between client and therapist, and aim to establish an honest, safe, and empathetic relationship with each client I meet. To me, this alliance is essential to helping clients identify their goals and the ways in which they might be standing in their own way. Developing this unique relationship allows the client and me to work collaboratively to help them further understand themselves so that they can lead a life more aligned with their values. I strive to give clients the space to explore different parts of themselves while also leaving room for thoughts and long standing beliefs to be dissected and challenged from a nonjudgmental stance.
I have experience working with clients with a wide range of difficulties including but not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, racial and sexual minority stress, and relational issues. I have extensive training working with clients of various sexual and gender expressions, and am trained in both Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe it’s important to acknowledge the unique needs and challenges of each client, and adjust my style to account for these differences - this is not a “one size fits all” kind of therapy.
